All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray....

Ok so the leaves haven't turned yet but the skies have been a bit greyer lately (plus I always giggle when I sing this song after the Sketch Show skit check it out here). Autumn is definitely here and as today is the last day of March we are set for a new month.
I was reflecting back on the last three months and can not believe how much has happened!

First of all I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter. What did you get up to? Do you have a tradition that you do every year? I was asked this year as the Guest Soloist at Box Hill Salvation Army's Easter celebrations. I truly love Easter music and so it always is such a pleasure to share it with others plus I got to stay and spend time with my sister Lauren, Aaron and Bella. So I had a lovely time away and was really happy with how my voice was. I have been singing so much lately, it was getting tired but it seems it has always been conditioned :)

The weekend before Easter was Soul Factor's performances of Power of His Love. What a wonderful musical that is, such amazing music and powerful story. The audiences loved it and we loved performing it. I will admit I was very tired at the end of the day but happy and proud of Soul Factor for another fabulous performance.

So looking back on the last three months, I have to say I have been so blessed with singing opportunities. 3 Musicals in 3 months, in rehearsals for the 4th and have a 5th lined up. I've been able to play numerous characters that I love and have also had the chance to sing at other events. I have loved every moment of it and thank God everyday that He uses my talents in this way.

So here's to April and what it brings.

Keep singing :)

Bec xx

Happy Birthday Songs!

So I'm now 31! I can not believe a year has already passed since my 30th and all that was going on at that time. There I was last year thinking "Oh my goodness, I'm in a new age range I've hit 30" and that year has already past. Well, I can say that being in your 30's is not bad actually and if anything I am happy I'm here, yes minus a few things I thought I would have gained in that 30th year but I am happy, healthy and surrounded by those who love me so I am extremely grateful. This years birthday was a lot less flashy than last years (thank goodness because that was a lot of work haha!) but lovely all the same. It began actually on Saturday, my sister Liv had organised a breakfast and surprised me by inviting some of girlfriends to join us. The cafĂ© we went to was Harvest in Mylor, South Australia. It was really adorable and encourage you to check it out some time. We sat outside in gorgeous weather, under the tress and enjoyed each others company and...

"Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain"

I can't believe I am sitting here already a week after the opening of Emma Knights Productions Oklahoma! on a Farm and we have finished another fabulous season and I've already jumped into rehearsals for the next couple of things. But I wanted to take a moment to again talk about this show and to say how grateful I am to be able to perform like this. This season of Oklahoma was HOT!! in many ways but also "literally" haha!! The temperatures of the weekend were in the high 30's and Saturday was so humid, but the amazing cast, crew and orchestra pushed through it and the performances was fabulous. And thats not just me saying that but the audiences who came were again raving at how good it was and what I find wonderful is they all sat through it, in the heat themselves but did not complain. There is something about being on the farm, if you have never been to Four Oaks Farm in Littlehampton I encourage you to (even better if it's for a show I'm doing...

Turkish and Other Delights! Part Two...

And so the story of the trip continues here Part One can be found here ! So we arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday 21st April 2015 and as I said in the previous post we were struck by how many people there were and how crazy the driving was but luckily we were picked up by our tour company, Travelshop Turkey. We did make it to our hotel, The Green Park Hotel, safely and this hotel seemed quite nice. We did find it weird we didnt know anything about our start time in the morning or anything else from our tour but the guy at the desk did say that they were rather unorganised and not to worry, he'd let us know. Dancers on the boat Our first experience began that night began with a Bosphorus River and Dinner Cruise (to be honest we didn't quite know what to expect), people had said that it was great to cruise on the Bosphorus and see Istanbul from the water. Well we got picked up along with some others we didn't know and headed to our boat. Well this night was an experience!...
