A Song for Everything

Well its a little hard to believe but the weekend just gone was closing weekend of the musical AIDA, presented by Hills Musical Company and in which I was playing the title role of Aida. Everything seems to be flying by but I wanted to take a moment to look back on it. This was the SA Premiere of this musical with music & lyrics written by Sir Elton John and Sir Tim Rice and we had a really successful season. For a lot of our audiences they had never heard the music, they may have had an idea of the story as it does follow the story of the Opera Aida but for most it was new and it was such a pleasure to see them enjoy it. The Director Lauren Scarfe, Choreographer Thomas Phillips and Musical Director Kristy Williamson had a vision and although the process to get this on the stage was not without its challenges, the end result was a wonderful show and everyone worked hard.
