A Cowboy Christmas??

Hi Y'all!! (please read this blog in a southern drawl LOL!)

I am in the throws of Production week and its a little crazy but exciting! Opening Saturday night, Soul Factor (along with some friends) are presenting For Unto Y'all - A Cowboy Christmas! This is a fabulous musical about the Christmas story but told in a different way, set in 1888 in the little town of Bethlehem in the Wyoming Territory in the Old West.
"In this unconventional telling of the ageless story of Jesus' birth, old Doc Trotter introduces the angel Gabriel, a six-gun totin' masked man dressed in white, as Gabriel tells Mary and Joseph the good news. We follow the exploits of the “Three Wise Men” Frobisham (pompous Englishman), Prescott (brash New York journalist), Professor Von Metzenbaum (German astronomer) and their housekeeper Irish Kate as they travel through the hostile territory to arrive at Bethlehem to meet the new baby King. They also come across Governor Tyree - cousin of the leader of the worst outlaw gang in the land… it runs in the family, except he steals from behind a desk. Arriving in Bethlehem Mary and Joseph meet Gracie the Saloon Ma’am, who heads them towards the livery stable. The shepherds become a rowdy bunch of lonesome cowboys working their herd on the prairie and the angels become a heavenly posse, and they all end up in the livery stable."

This musical is a hilarious show, we the cast are having a ball and look forward to sharing it with you. I am playing Irish Kate and this is a different role for me but a lot of fun.
So am I going to see you there?? It is extremely kid friendly (we had some children there last night at rehearsal and they laughed a lot not to mention kept their eyes on the guns of the cowboys) and a great time for all the family. Also we would love to see you dress up! So grab your hat, strap on your six guns and saddle your stick horses, this is going to be a fun ride!!

Happy Birthday Songs!

So I'm now 31! I can not believe a year has already passed since my 30th and all that was going on at that time. There I was last year thinking "Oh my goodness, I'm in a new age range I've hit 30" and that year has already past. Well, I can say that being in your 30's is not bad actually and if anything I am happy I'm here, yes minus a few things I thought I would have gained in that 30th year but I am happy, healthy and surrounded by those who love me so I am extremely grateful. This years birthday was a lot less flashy than last years (thank goodness because that was a lot of work haha!) but lovely all the same. It began actually on Saturday, my sister Liv had organised a breakfast and surprised me by inviting some of girlfriends to join us. The cafĂ© we went to was Harvest in Mylor, South Australia. It was really adorable and encourage you to check it out some time. We sat outside in gorgeous weather, under the tress and enjoyed each others company and...

"Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain"

I can't believe I am sitting here already a week after the opening of Emma Knights Productions Oklahoma! on a Farm and we have finished another fabulous season and I've already jumped into rehearsals for the next couple of things. But I wanted to take a moment to again talk about this show and to say how grateful I am to be able to perform like this. This season of Oklahoma was HOT!! in many ways but also "literally" haha!! The temperatures of the weekend were in the high 30's and Saturday was so humid, but the amazing cast, crew and orchestra pushed through it and the performances was fabulous. And thats not just me saying that but the audiences who came were again raving at how good it was and what I find wonderful is they all sat through it, in the heat themselves but did not complain. There is something about being on the farm, if you have never been to Four Oaks Farm in Littlehampton I encourage you to (even better if it's for a show I'm doing...

Turkish and Other Delights! Part Two...

And so the story of the trip continues here Part One can be found here ! So we arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday 21st April 2015 and as I said in the previous post we were struck by how many people there were and how crazy the driving was but luckily we were picked up by our tour company, Travelshop Turkey. We did make it to our hotel, The Green Park Hotel, safely and this hotel seemed quite nice. We did find it weird we didnt know anything about our start time in the morning or anything else from our tour but the guy at the desk did say that they were rather unorganised and not to worry, he'd let us know. Dancers on the boat Our first experience began that night began with a Bosphorus River and Dinner Cruise (to be honest we didn't quite know what to expect), people had said that it was great to cruise on the Bosphorus and see Istanbul from the water. Well we got picked up along with some others we didn't know and headed to our boat. Well this night was an experience!...
