Little Crazy

Finally I am getting a chance to write this!! meant to do it end of October but things just got a little crazy!

So so much has been going on and I've even had a birthday since my last post. So i wanted to fill you in as some exciting things are happening. October was a great month, filled with all the things I love. Makeup doing, birthdays, catch ups and concerts. Soul Factor was back doing their concerts and we had an absolute ball! Full crowds, great music, costumes and fun. Its been a few years since we did a Broadway Concert and it was such a pleasure to get back to it and the audiences loved it too.

Later in the month I sang at the Hills Choral Society Concert. It was a songs of Stage & Screen concert so it was lovely to sing some favourites. My solos were I Dreamed a Dream, When She Loved Me, Colours of the Wind and Buenos Aires and then I joined the choir for the Phantom of the Opera Medley. It was a lovely afternoon of music.

The 29th was my birthday and I had a lovely day celebrating with family and friends and then finishing the day singing at Broadway Sessions with some of my besties which was great fun! So now I am a year older and am excited for what is coming in this year! I believe its going to be my best yet!

I finished October off madly doing Mary Kay. DIQ is still happening and I so want to be a Director. I love sharing this business and the products, and building an amazing team of wonderful people that inspire me.
November is my 3rd month of DIQ and so its still full steam ahead. On Nov 8th my personal Mary Kay website went live and for that I am so excited. Connect with me, order from me and more all through the website www.marykay.com.au/rebeccaraymond . I'd love to connect with you so go check it out and if I can help you with anything please let me know.

November is shaping up to be a real mix of music and Mary Kay. I have a few new gigs this month which should be a lot of fun and I am excited to do plus i have weddings and Christmas Mary Kay makeup events and I am booking in lots of things for next year!!
So far I have 7 shows booked in for next year already 😅 I am excited because there is so much new and fantastic music plus the chance to create roles not done here before and to revisit roles I love. And aside from musicals the chance to share some wonderful music through other events. I am so happy and grateful that I get to follow my passion both for music and for makeup. I feel very blessed and I look forward to sharing all these with you.

But before we get to next year, this year has to end and Christmas is coming. Soul Factor's Christmas Concert is coming up and along with some wonderful Christmas music the second half of the concert will be a stand up musical called Searching for a King. You will be uplifted, moved and entertained but most of all you will begin your Christmas Season well. Tickets are on sale now at http://www.soulfactorgospelchoir.com/ and I would love to see you there!

Well I wish you well until my next post! Have a fabulous week!

Happy Birthday Songs!

So I'm now 31! I can not believe a year has already passed since my 30th and all that was going on at that time. There I was last year thinking "Oh my goodness, I'm in a new age range I've hit 30" and that year has already past. Well, I can say that being in your 30's is not bad actually and if anything I am happy I'm here, yes minus a few things I thought I would have gained in that 30th year but I am happy, healthy and surrounded by those who love me so I am extremely grateful. This years birthday was a lot less flashy than last years (thank goodness because that was a lot of work haha!) but lovely all the same. It began actually on Saturday, my sister Liv had organised a breakfast and surprised me by inviting some of girlfriends to join us. The café we went to was Harvest in Mylor, South Australia. It was really adorable and encourage you to check it out some time. We sat outside in gorgeous weather, under the tress and enjoyed each others company and...

Be the Hero of your story....

Well after around 4 months of rehearsal the time has come for us to open "Big Fish" the Musical. Tonight is the Preview before tomorrow Opening Night and I am so excited to share it with audiences and bring the SA Premiere to Adelaide! You may have gathered from other posts that I LOVE this musical and the role that I am playing. Of all the lead roles I have played, this one, Sandra Bloom, is a special one. But I think that has a lot to do with the cast, production team and all those involved with putting this show on. It has been such a wonderful rehearsal period creating something beautiful and for that I feel very blessed. I get to sing some beautiful songs, be a mother and grandmother and have red hair! Plus you don't want to miss my blue Sparkly dress!! If you are trying to decide whether to come to it as you don't know the story or music I encourage you to take a leap and come along. This music had me from the first listen and the story is so full of heart ...

"Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain"

I can't believe I am sitting here already a week after the opening of Emma Knights Productions Oklahoma! on a Farm and we have finished another fabulous season and I've already jumped into rehearsals for the next couple of things. But I wanted to take a moment to again talk about this show and to say how grateful I am to be able to perform like this. This season of Oklahoma was HOT!! in many ways but also "literally" haha!! The temperatures of the weekend were in the high 30's and Saturday was so humid, but the amazing cast, crew and orchestra pushed through it and the performances was fabulous. And thats not just me saying that but the audiences who came were again raving at how good it was and what I find wonderful is they all sat through it, in the heat themselves but did not complain. There is something about being on the farm, if you have never been to Four Oaks Farm in Littlehampton I encourage you to (even better if it's for a show I'm doing...
