Songs of superheroes or maybe not...

There is a general feel of upheaval in our house at the moment as we are all about to move to different places thus breaking up our family unit that has been extremely close for a long time. One thing I will miss is our silly songwriting sessions. I have always been one to change the words of songs to fit what is happening at the moment and my brother and sisters are the same, so last night while cleaning our teeth we had an impromtu song fest going in regards to "Sunburn man" a new kind of super hero, this led to other product advertisement songs which had us all in tears of laughter and trying to keep quiet as it was late at night. I love that feeling that you can't breathe because you are laughing so hard.
The funniest thing is to wake up the next day and realise that maybe it wasn't as funny as your thought but you try to remember the moment anyway :)
I will definately miss those times with my sisters and bro................

A dream is a wish you heart makes... Do you have a dream? something that you want your life to be? or somewhere you want to go? Are you reaching for it? I have had a dream to be a Mary Kay Director since I joined the company 10 years ago and this month I took a huge step to achieving this. On October 1st I entered into DIQ or Director in Qualification, I now have 4 months to become a Director. I am very excited about this, the timing seemed right and when I do it I will be able to do just Mary Kay and Singing which will be perfect! It is rather scary though because there is a lot of work to be done in those four months, I have to build my team and reach certain production goals and sometimes it seems crazy, but that's the idea of moving up isn't it? taking a leap of faith? So why Directorship you ask? I understand leadership is not for everyone but I have always been drawn to it. MMMBop and road trip classics 😉

Road trip singalongs are the best! Do you agree? What are your favourite songs to sing? Do you have specific lists or eras or styles of music you listen/sing to? For me it usually depends who I am travelling with but nothing beats a good 80s/90s song list.... So last weekend I was on a road trip to Halls Gap with my sister, my brother in law and my niece and nephew. We had a fabulous time singing away the hours to many a favourite. Of course the kids occasionally asked for a song they knew but we thought it was important we listened to the classics haha 😜 We headed to Halls Gap for NanaFest 2019! A weekend to celebrate the 90th Birthday of my Nana Dawn. Staying in cabins and tents the family came from Victoria and SA and shared a weekend of catching up, a party, jumping pillows and bonfires. Where has all the time gone to?

Oh my goodness, it is March and this is the first blog post I am writing this YEAR!! I am sorry for the lack of blog posts. This year has started off with a bang and kept going and now is flying past! So let's catch up. 2019 began actually slowly for me, for the past few years I have had Oklahoma in the first week of January but this year we didn't have it so it was nice to have some holidays as last year was crazy! But the new year started with an Elvis Gig on the 6th, great to catch up and sing with the band again and then I headed off to Kuala Lumpur for Mary Kay Leadership Conference. I had a ball there, meeting and learning from other Directors in Malaysia, Phillipines and Singapore but also getting to know the Aussie and NZ Directors better. Plus I had to sing in the Talent Night with the rest of the Directors from Aus/NZ Dancing behind and WE WON!! Hilarious but a fab time. So then it was back and straight into rehearsals for Soul Factor's Fringe show
