So I'm now 31! I can not believe a year has already passed since my 30th and all that was going on at that time. There I was last year thinking "Oh my goodness, I'm in a new age range I've hit 30" and that year has already past. Well, I can say that being in your 30's is not bad actually and if anything I am happy I'm here, yes minus a few things I thought I would have gained in that 30th year but I am happy, healthy and surrounded by those who love me so I am extremely grateful.
This years birthday was a lot less flashy than last years (thank goodness because that was a lot of work haha!) but lovely all the same. It began actually on Saturday, my sister Liv had organised a breakfast and surprised me by inviting some of girlfriends to join us. The café we went to was Harvest in Mylor, South Australia. It was really adorable and encourage you to check it out some time. We sat outside in gorgeous weather, under the tress and enjoyed each others company and the delicious food. I am a lover of breakfast food and so it was a delight to enjoy someone else cooking it. Plus the place was cutsy and I'm all for that.
Then I had a family dinner on Tuesday night and then dinner with some of the Cast of Legally Blonde the Musical before our rehearsal. So all in all a lovely time, lots of messages and birthday wishes plus some lovely gifts so I am very thankful. I was sung to many times which was great including my little niece Bella who recorded a video for me. Its funny because we are a singing family and we sing numerous birthday songs. So there is the traditional "Happy Birthday" (in our house in 4-5 harmonies) plus, "Why was she/he born so beautiful", "For She/he's a Jolly Good Fellow", "God's Blessing on you". What are your birthday songs?? I would never want to replace the traditional Happy Birthday but we just have a tradition of all the others as well, do you?
I mentioned earlier about the cast of Legally Blonde the Musical and that I am in this musical, well it opens next week, Friday 7th November!! It is such a fun, vibrant musical and I am having a great time being a part of it. My character Vivienne is a rather different person to myself but I will be honest and say it is fun to play a character who is mean haha!!
Anyway you should come along, it is going to be a brilliant show, the cast and orchestra are fabulous and there are REAL dogs in the show. So head onto www.hillsmusical.org.au for info and tickets and I will look forward to seeing you there.
Have fabulous week!
