"Come Alive"

Yes I am alive 😂 My goodness is has been ages since my last post! I am sorry for waiting this long. I can't really say why I have not written a post for so long but it is a matter of this year has flown by and really I haven't been doing as many show as normal so I kind of forget to write about it. BUT I have been doing things, concerts, gigs, teaching and trying to grow my Mary Kay business. Over the last couple of months, as a family we have celebrated many birthdays including my Mum's 60th. Which we celebrated by throwing a games night! It was a fab night, with lots of participation and fun. Also almost two months ago, my beautiful niece Harriet Rose was born so its have been a time of much love and laughter. Singing wise I have been teaching, doing some gigs, church worship and of course Soul Factor. This year I did make a decision not to many shows as last year was so crazy, so it has been an interesting year. Honestly, I have missed doing shows (yes i hav...

Where has all the time gone to?

Oh my goodness, it is March and this is the first blog post I am writing this YEAR!! I am sorry for the lack of blog posts. This year has started off with a bang and kept going and now is flying past! So let's catch up. 2019 began actually slowly for me, for the past few years I have had Oklahoma in the first week of January but this year we didn't have it so it was nice to have some holidays as last year was crazy! But the new year started with an Elvis Gig on the 6th, great to catch up and sing with the band again and then I headed off to Kuala Lumpur for Mary Kay Leadership Conference.  I had a ball there, meeting and learning from other Directors in Malaysia, Phillipines and Singapore but also getting to know the Aussie and NZ Directors better. Plus I had to sing in the Talent Night with the rest of the Directors from Aus/NZ Dancing behind and WE WON!! Hilarious but a fab time.  So then it was back and straight into rehearsals for Soul Factor's Fringe show ...

2018 Celebration!!

2018 has really been an amazing year.  When I look back on what I've actually done this year it is actually quite crazy but I've enjoyed every minute of it.  There have been times of difficulty and real stress when things didn't go to plan but God has blessed me so abundantly and really allowed me to use my gifts to share with people and to create a life that is really full of joy. So at the beginning of this year, I actually said I was gonna have a quieter year and that turned out to not be true in the slightest. But it has been amazing!  So this year, I have done Oklahoma on a Farm twice, played Princess Fiona in an SA Premiere of Shrek (plus learned to tap dance), done a Bee Gee's Tribute with my sisters, climbed aboard a Pirate Ship many times, been a Siamese Twin in SideShow the Musical, been an Ice & Fire Queen, learnt and performed many Elvis songs, sang on a Cruise Ship,  sang on the radio 4 times, perfomed in concerts, gigs, dinne...

All Shook Up!

I am blessed. A week ago I got back from an amazing singing trip. Cruising the seas, performing with amazing musicians and performers, 16 shows in 7 days, plenty of food and a ton of laughs - I am still smiling. The Cruise 'N Groove Elvis Meets the Legends Cruise was a fantastic week. I had never been on a cruise before so it was quite an experience, I loved the food and the weather was fantastic (only a bit of rockiness to contend with) and we visited Mare and Noumea in New Caledonia.  I am reasonably new to the Elvis world and so this was an eye opener for that as well but I actually loved it. Elvis fans are exceptionally passionate and in some ways quite a wonder.  I was on this trip as a backing vocalist with the Tributes in Concert Band or TIC Band and we backed all of the headlining Elvis Tribute Artists. So to the band first, what a privilege it was to perform with them. Each and everyone of them super talented (to the point, that I would get caught watching them...

There's a bright golden haze on the meadow....

"There's a bright golden haze on the meadow....." Yes there is! Emma Knights Productions Oklahoma! on a Farm is BACK for its fourth season and opens this Thursday. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that this is a special production and the role of Laurey is one I love to play! This year is the 75th Anniversary of the Production of Oklahoma! and so it is wonderful to be performing it again in the same year. Although in rather milder weather! The Farm, Four Oaks at Littlehampton is beautifully green and bursting with life. The animals are in full voice as in the wonderful cast. Immerse yourself in this unique family-friendly experience, a beloved classic with live horses, windmill, and a country fair of delicious treats & wares. If the last 3 seasons feedback is anything to go by, you will LOVE IT!! If you have seen it before, you will know what I am talking about and you should tell others. Or come along again and bring some new fr...

August is Over!

Well I am just going to get this post in for August! This month has just flown, lots has been happening. How about you? This week has brought on some fabulous weather and definitely the hope of Spring!! So the month of August has been filled with all different things and as always I am grateful for the different opportunities I get to experience. At the end of July, I finished that month with 2 fantastic concerts. Soul Factor's "Bless 'Em all - a Tribute to the Anzacs" Concert with the Australian Army Band Adelaide. What a fantastic afternoon that was, wonderful music and a full house, we all had a fabulous time. Was also lovely to sing with my Sisters! For a full photo album click here .  Then that same day I then went and sang at the Gov with the JD Lord Band, which was a great night of music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Then it was into August and I headed to Sydney for Mary Kay Seminar which was fantastic! Was great to get away for a couple of days and ...

Bless 'Em All, Bless 'Em All...

Well its been a little while since I last posted! June seemed to fly by as I was busy finishing financial year as well! Actually its been an interesting time the last month for me. If you don't know, aside from being a Singer & Performer, I am a Mary Kay Sales Director. So I have been learning to juggle all the things I have going on in my life. May was a crazy month, I finished Side Show the Musical, did the Melodienacht concerts in Tanunda, rehearsals and did 50 facial/makeovers. It was a full on month and I was exhausted by the end, both mentally and physically. I knew that I had to recharge and change my thoughts and so I changed up my morning and evening routine, refocused on my goals and who I want to be. Its taking time to slow down a bit, spend time with God and control the thoughts. It really has helped and now I feel happier and less stressed and excited for this new Mary Kay year and the rest of the year. And now we are into the second half of the year, how are...
