A Song for Everything

So it’s the middle of the night and it seems that you have your own film or television show going on in your mind. There's a situation, you see it as it is, as it really happened, then you see it as you wished it happened, then you see another way, then another way, you change how it went, there are multiple alternate endings the list goes on………..and you don’t sleep!!  Does this happen to you to? Or is it just me?? I don’t believe it’s just me haha I know that many of us do it, especially us ladies :-P Over thinking, negative thoughts and creating drama in our minds is very common. I realise that I am a dramatic person and I love a good performance but although the situation might be out of my hands, the way I think and react are in my control if only to turn them over to God. Happy New Year!! I know I'm almost a month late but I still hadn't said it to you and it is a happy new year, is it for you? I began this year with people I care about and actually my Christmas holidays were like that too and it was wonderful.  My sister Lauren, my brother in law Aaron and their daughter Bella (my beautiful niece) were over here for 10 days and it was just lovely to spend so much time with them. Children always make that time of the year more special and although Bella is only 1, she just bought so many smiles, laughs and fun to the time.  How was your Christmas? did you get some time off? I say it like that because it kind of felt like it appeared out of no where! 2013 was a great year, a busy crazy year at times but a good & blessed one and for the most part I had a ball. So I have finished my Christmas singing for the year, which to be honest is quite strange. I have found that this year Christmas has been not that stressful now granted I have had an extremely busy year especially the last 3 months and I have done a Christmas Musical but it is strange to have time to myself at Christmas. This last weekend was a reflection of my usual running around like a crazy thing but it was one weekend and who doesn't love to get caught up in Christmas Spirit? The Christmas Musical went extremely well and was an excellent, fun way to usher in the festive season and remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. People left uplifted, encouraged and excited and as a performer you can't ask for more than that.  Soul Factor has had a big year, a fantastic year but one that has stretched and challenged all of us and we all deserve some time off although you do miss one another haha! Ok, so I've been "30" now for 2 weeks and so far this new decade seems to be not too bad. Actually the last few weeks have been great, super busy but really memorable. Isn't it funny how when we are approaching significant birthdays, we start to think about where we are in life and whether we have reached our goals or have achieved our dreams and I think more often than not we get worried that we're not "there" yet (wherever "there" is!). I suppose I have been thinking like this almost all of this year, 30 seemed like a looming figure :-p, and Ill admit that there are things that I thought I would have done by now. I felt I was getting older, things were changing and I was going to miss out. I was letting worry control my thoughts and worrying steals your joy. So I was out to dinner last night with two of my girlfriends and we were discussing blogs and writing them and I realised that I had not written here for a long time!! It has been a couple of months and i feel bad! Lots has been happening I will say that, this month especially! In fact the weekend of the 11-13 October was probably the busiest yet strangest weekend Ive had for a while.  Friday the 11 Oct was the day of my 30th Birthday party (yes its a new decade, crazy!), my actually birthday is the 29th but as my little sister is getting married (more about that later) that week it was important to change it. So I celebrated along with a few people that mean alot to me. The theme was Old Hollywood Glamour and so everyone came in their red carpet best.
