Christmas is the Best time of the Year!!

December 1st already!!! can you believe it??

Granted, I have done a lot of things this year but it does seem to have raced past!

So Christmas is fast approaching and for me that means numerous gigs usually entailing lots of carol singing and joy bells ringing 😂

I truly LOVE Christmas and think that it IS the best time of the year. I love the amazing reason for Christmas after all Christmas is Jesus!, I love the songs and music, the atmosphere, the decorations, the films, the times of family get togethers and people sharing with others plus it does end our year and so to focus on this at the end of a busy year makes me happy.

So what does your Christmas season look like? what are your favourite traditions?
It wouldn't be Christmas for me without singing and this often takes many forms. This Sunday I am making a steller effort of three singing things in one day haha!!

Sunday 4th December - so Oklahoma rehearsals begin. Do you remember that at the start of the year I did Oklahoma on a Farm? and it was one of the best expereinces Ive had?? well I get to do it again and if you missed it last time DON'T, I said DON'T miss it this time! It runs Jan 6-8 and tickets are available here!!

Anyway, so Oklahoma rehearsals and then at 3pm on Sunday Soul Factor Gospel Choir has their Christmas Concert "Christmas is the Best Time of Year". Well what can I say about this but this will be a fabulous afternoon. Soul Factor are truly an amazing group and yes I know my mum runs in (she's pretty amazing too) and I've been in it since the beginning but it is quality. I love all the pieces of music we are singing, you will be very much in the Christmas Spirit at the end and have a smile on your face. Tickets are selling fast so grab yours online

THEN in the evening of the 4th I am a special guest at Hazelwood Park Carols. Starting at 7pm but food and other community things available prior this is a lovely place to sing some carols and enjoy Australia's Christmas. If you come along let me know. I am singing a few songs along with the Tanunda Band. Should be a good night.

Well that's all for now! Have a great weekend!

A Dream is a wish your heart makes....

A dream is a wish you heart makes... Do you have a dream? something that you want your life to be? or somewhere you want to go? Are you reaching for it? I have had a dream to be a Mary Kay Director since I joined the company 10 years ago and this month I took a huge step to achieving this. On October 1st I entered into DIQ or Director in Qualification, I now have 4 months to become a Director. I am very excited about this, the timing seemed right and when I do it I will be able to do just Mary Kay and Singing which will be perfect! It is rather scary though because there is a lot of work to be done in those four months, I have to build my team and reach certain production goals and sometimes it seems crazy, but that's the idea of moving up isn't it? taking a leap of faith? So why Directorship you ask? I understand leadership is not for everyone but I have always been drawn to it. I do have a passion for helping women feel good about themselves and I believe that we are

MMMBop and road trip classics 😉

Road trip singalongs are the best! Do you agree?  What are your favourite songs to sing? Do you have specific lists or eras or styles of music you listen/sing to?  For me it usually depends who I am travelling with but nothing beats a good 80s/90s song list.... So last weekend I was on a road trip to Halls Gap with my sister, my brother in law and my niece and nephew. We had a fabulous time singing away the hours to many a favourite. Of course the kids occasionally asked for a song they knew but we thought it was important we listened to the classics haha 😜 We headed to Halls Gap for NanaFest 2019! A weekend to celebrate the 90th Birthday of my Nana Dawn. Staying in cabins and tents the family came from Victoria and SA and shared a weekend of catching up, a party, jumping pillows and bonfires. I do love my family, there is a a lot of us and it is lovely to see the all the generations interacting and enjoying each others company. We had wonderful weather and my sister

Where has all the time gone to?

Oh my goodness, it is March and this is the first blog post I am writing this YEAR!! I am sorry for the lack of blog posts. This year has started off with a bang and kept going and now is flying past! So let's catch up. 2019 began actually slowly for me, for the past few years I have had Oklahoma in the first week of January but this year we didn't have it so it was nice to have some holidays as last year was crazy! But the new year started with an Elvis Gig on the 6th, great to catch up and sing with the band again and then I headed off to Kuala Lumpur for Mary Kay Leadership Conference.  I had a ball there, meeting and learning from other Directors in Malaysia, Phillipines and Singapore but also getting to know the Aussie and NZ Directors better. Plus I had to sing in the Talent Night with the rest of the Directors from Aus/NZ Dancing behind and WE WON!! Hilarious but a fab time.  So then it was back and straight into rehearsals for Soul Factor's Fringe show
